Who will be the next occupants of the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys? The question is already arousing the curiosity of fans of the
star Academy
eager to know if the new promotion will be able to compete with that of 2023, touted today as one of the best in the history of the show.
And it is on the shoulders of TF1 and production that this heavy mission weighs: find at least 13 candidates – the exact number of students in the new promotion has not yet been revealed – who will aim to become the best singers, dancers and performers and why not the new Pierre Garnier, whose success is now undisputed.
Several casting and selection phases will take place over several months. And the first stage seems to have begun, according to the story of Mathieu Vergne, one of the producers of the show. Ophélie Meunier’s husband has in fact published on Instagram a photo of a notebook with the unequivocal front cover “Star Academy Auditions – Tuesday April 16”all accompanied by the message: “Class of 2024, we’re waiting for you!”
3 already known candidates?
Last season, more than 20,000 applications were registered to hope to join the casting of the adventure. But only around a hundred people were invited to the TF1 tower to appear in front of a jury of professionals in order to convince them, before the latter began a skimming phase to arrive at the last 13 candidates.
Another question also remains unanswered: what about the three candidates ousted at the last minute last season, due to a reduction in the length of the show? Jean-Louis Blot, president of Endemol France and producer of the show, assured that these three unfortunate candidates would join the next season if the star Academy was renewed. Well, not exactly. The producer had specified that “if there is a season 3, they will participate directly in the last phase of castings”. See you next fall to find out if the second chance given to the three budding singers was successful this time.
