A call was made to 911, Saturday around 3:00 a.m., for a burned vehicle on rue des Alismas, in the Sainte-Dorothée district, in Laval.
It was, according to our information, a black Mercedes-Benz belonging to former world boxing champion David Lemieux.
The car parked a stone’s throw from the 34-year-old’s residence was mainly affected by the flames in front, according to images obtained by The newspaper.
Significant flames emerged from the vehicle of the ex-pugilist.

No arrest
The Laval Fire Safety Department went to the scene to put out the blaze. The investigation was then transferred to the Service de police de Laval (SPL).
“There were elements that led us to believe that it could be arson,” said Erika Landry, spokesperson for the police force.
The latter, however, refused to specify what could have been used to trigger the blaze.
The car was heavily damaged by the blaze.

Investigators and forensic identification technicians must go to the scene on Saturday to examine the scene.
No arrests had been made in the file as of early Saturday afternoon. David Lemieux refused to answer our questions.
Unusual
The neighbors met by The newspaper, who preferred not to identify themselves, for their part were all adamant that they had never seen anything like this happen before on their street.
Some were also awoken from their sleep by the commotion of first responders and the din generated by the flames.
“It is quiet. It’s not a neighborhood that sucks, argues a resident. That’s why I think everyone is a little surprised.”
“It’s a sector that was safe, but is it made a sector that is no longer? raises another citizen. It is to ask questions.”
From the rue des Alismas, you can also see, high in the sky, the complex where a condo of the entrepreneur Olivier Primeau had been targeted by gunfire earlier this year.
Sad birthday coming
This would be the second time in nearly a year that the Lemieux family has been shaken by a criminal act.
The ex-pugilist’s father, André Fernand Lemieux, 64, was shot and killed in Montreal in August 2022.
He was one of three men apparently shot at random by Abdulla Shaikh, in Montreal and Laval.
The 26-year-old man, who is said to have suffered from mental illness, allegedly used a homemade weapon to commit his crimes.
The authorities had finally shot the suspect in a motel in the borough of Saint-Laurent, in Montreal.
In the days that followed, David Lemieux announced his retirement from boxing.
