Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar) hit hard on Saturday. He now has to complete his work. The 39-year-old Dutchwoman, who flew over the penultimate stage of the Tour, has a comfortable margin over her competitors when tackling the last difficulty, Sunday July 31. But she hasn’t won the race as the course, between Lure and the Super Planche des Belles Filles, looks tough.
The 123 kilometres, which cross the Haute-Saône, the Territoire de Belfort and the Vosges, offer three major difficulties: the coast of Esmoulières (2nd cat, 2.3 km at 8.5%), the Ballon d’ Alsace (1st cat, 8.7 km at 6.9%) and finally the Super Planche des Belles Filles (1st cat, 7 km at 8.7%). It is at the end of this ascent that the finish of the last stage will be judged and the final general classification will be established. The French Juliette Labous (Team DSM), 4th, will certainly throw her last strength into the battle to try to grab the podium. Follow the step live.
