The use of public transport still not recovered from the pandemic in Montreal

After more than two years, public transit in Montreal is not recovering from its pandemic fall. Even now, bus stops and subway stations are 30-40% less crowded than in January 2020, according to Google Places traffic data from mobile phones.

Telecommuting will certainly have permanent effects on the use of public transport. According to the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM), the “new normal” in terms of traffic could eventually be coronavirus+2+may+2022″ target=”_blank”>at around 15% below the level pre-pandemic.
