The United States announced Thursday, November 10 a new tranche of military aid to Ukraine, including additional missiles for the anti-aircraft defense of kyiv, for a total value of some 400 million dollars. It includes four Avenger short-range anti-aircraft systems, mobile systems mounted on light armor and an unspecified number of Stinger missiles. Follow our live.
Zelensky welcomes Ukrainian territorial gains. Ukraine announced Thursday the reconquest of a dozen villages in the region of Kherson, in the south of the country. “It is not the enemy who is withdrawing, it is the Ukrainians who are driving out the occupier and paying the price”underlined in the evening President Volodymyr Zelensky, taking the opposite view of the Russian army which affirmed Wednesday to withdraw to occupy better positions. “It was achieved through courage, in pain and with loss”added the Ukrainian President.
Moscow begins the withdrawal of the Kherson region. The Russian army has announced that it has begun its withdrawal by moving its troops from the right (western) bank, where the city of Kherson is located, to the left bank of the Dnieper River, a natural obstacle theoretically easier to defend. “Units of the Russian troop contingent maneuver towards positions set up on the left bank of the Dnieper River”said the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Lecornu anticipates a “frozen” situation on the ground. On France 2, Friday morning, the Minister of the Armed Forces delivered his point of view on the Ukrainian conflict. “We are going to enter winter and the front zone, and in particular around the Dnieper, will freezepredicts Sébastien Lecornu. The Russian decision freezes the situation for the weeks and months to come, we are going to have a lot of deep strikes.”
