Faced with the Omicron variant, each constituent nation of the United Kingdom adopts its own decisions. Scotland has decided to close its nightclubs for three weeks. In pubs across Northern Ireland, table service is making a comeback with a maximum of six people. England are keen to save the New Year and will not take any further action for December 31. British Health Minister Savgid Javid, however, called for caution and vigilance on the part of the population. The UK is one of the countries hardest hit by the Omicron variant, but hospitals are coping.
In Spain, six regions have reintroduced gauges and limited opening hours. A curfew has even been adopted in Barcelona (Catalonia). Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish Prime Minister, declared his support for the decisions taken by the autonomous communities. To face this new wave, Spain has already made use of its army.
