Employment in Quebec was little changed in February, with the unemployment rate standing at 4.1%, close to the record low of 3.9% recorded in January 2023 and November 2022.

The lowest unemployment rate (1.9%) is seen in the census metropolitan area (CMA) of Québec. “This is the lowest rate of any census metropolitan area in Canada and a decline of 0.5 percentage points over the month. [la moyenne mobile de trois mois]said Statistics Canada.
In the Montréal CMA, employment changed little, since the unemployment rate rose by 0.4 percentage points to reach 5.0%.
