It was in April, a month after the departure of Russian soldiers from the Ukrainian town of Boutcha, 20 km from kyiv. The inhabitants and the reporters on the spot discover the war crimes perpetrated by the Kremlin troops who had invaded the city from the start of the war, on February 24. The mutilated body of a woman is found in a cellar, naked under a fur coat.
Photographer Florent Marcie takes her picture to testify to the atrocities that take place a few hours flight from France. He shows it to his colleague Patrick Chauvel, who decides to investigate this woman who has become “the symbol of all women raped in Ukraine and in the world”. Paris-Match has just published this terrifying but necessary report.
Patrick Chauvel is Célyne Baÿt-Darcourt’s media guest.
