Every time a conflict breaks out on the planet and civilians are injured or killed, our collective conversation of denunciation is set in motion. Politicians go all out in condemning speeches, words of disapproval follow one another with enormous energy. Everyone gives their opinion, there are analyses, explanations of the context from journalists, except that no concrete action is taken. Those who, for example, in the case of the bloody conflict between Israel and Hamas, dare to get involved in their own way, and in a peaceful way, are subject to injunctions. All things considered, the silent majority, of which I am a part, is the subject of a communication exercise intended to help us distance ourselves from these inhumane, more than abnormal situations. After a few days and dozens more deaths, our resilience sinks into indifference and we wait for a pseudo-“red line” that never comes. It is successful, the unacceptable is accepted.
