the Ultras Briganti throw in the towel

The Ray stand risks ringing hollow next season at the Allianz Riviera. Opposite the Populaire Sud and its 3,000 members, the Ultras Briganti had been trying for four years to echo the songs of Pop’ and animate this Ray tribune. But this eventful season in the stands and the lack of support from the club to develop were right about the motivation of its founding members. The Ultras Briganti throw in the towel and cease their activity, as they explain in a press release published Thursday evening on their social networks.

We felt a lack of recognition, support and means

Joined by France Bleu Azur, Ultras Briganti spokesperson Jean-Michel Marasco explains. “We didn’t want to do the year too many and be ridiculous. We lost a lot of people after the pandemic, especially after the Covid epidemic. Yet the first two seasons were very positive, we managed to mobilize. But the pandemic has really come to a halt, like the stadium bans issued this season. And then we felt a lack of recognition, support and means. So by mutual agreement we decided to stop.

There is resentment among some young people

Everyone will continue to go to the stadium and everyone is free to go to the stand of their choice. There is resentment among some young people who had identified with the Ultras Briganti. But life goes on. In any case, I would like to thank all those who have invested in this adventure, starting with our president “Bitchou” who tried to animate this forum Ray who was dead. Today we will continue to support our club.
