The UFC-Que Choisir association published a study on Wednesday April 12 which shows that the display of the Nutri-Score encourages manufacturers to improve their recipes. The consumer association asks the authorities to make this nutritional labeling compulsory in France and in Europe.

To conduct this study, the association compared seven families of food products (ice cream, cereal bars, biscuits, etc.) between 2015 and 2022. In 2015, many of them had the worst grades, between E and D. But last year, three of these groups had a better composition and had less salt, sugar, saturated fat. These include specialty breads, cereal bars and breakfast cereals.

Among the manufacturers who have agreed to display the Nutri-Score on their products, we find Bjorg, Gerblé, Harry’s, Jacquet, La Boulangère, Kellogs and Nestlé. For UFC-Que Choisir, this study proves that this Nutri-Score must be made compulsory on all food products, in France and in Europe.
