The Council of State has decided. The two-wheelers will have to undergo a technical inspection from 1er October 2022. Environmental associations are happy with this decision.
The technical control, imposed by European law, will take effect for two-wheelers on 1er October following a decision by the Council of State. “Honestly, 90% of the motorcycles are in very good condition”, notes a mechanic, perplexed by this news. A driver measures, he will have to pay two technical controls, one for his car, the other for his motorcycle. The control will concern vehicles registered more than six years ago and vehicles over 125 cm³.
Environmental associations rejoice. “It’s more safety for bikers, it’s less noise for everyone, including for bikers and it’s less pollution”, argues Camille Mialot, lawyer for the Respire association. A technical control center has invested 50,000 euros for equipment suitable for two-wheelers and will recruit. “We need staff trained in this type of checks”says Valde Da Costa, head of a technical control center.
