It is a page in the history of La Redoute, a northern group headquartered in Roubaix, which is turning. It announces this Wednesday the departure of its two emblematic leaders, Nathalie Balla and Éric Courteille, replaced by Philippe Berlan. Another major announcement: the capital increase of the Galeries Lafayette group up to 100%.
Nathalie Balla and Eric Courteille took over La Redoute at the end of December 2013, when it was on the verge of bankruptcy. Their arrival was followed by a social plan. Since then, the company’s business has been doing well: it has 12 stores in France and draws its strength from internet sales, which represent 90% of its turnover. They indicate that they want to pursue new personal projects.
Philippe Berlan, former Deputy Managing Director, becomes the new Managing Director. In addition to the change in management, there is an increase in the capital of the Galeries Lafayette group. He is currently a 51% shareholder of La Redoute, since 2017. Over the next few months, the Galeries Lafayette group will own 100% of La Redoute.
