(La Tuque) A head-to-head collision left one dead and two injured on Route 155 in La Tuque, Mauricie, on Sunday.
The driver of a small vehicle traveling south would have deviated from her lane and hit a vehicle coming in the opposite direction, according to information collected by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The collision occurred at kilometer 127 in the La Bostonnais sector around 2 p.m.
The woman who deviated from her path, aged 53, was transported to a hospital center where she was declared dead. His passenger, a man in his thirties, is in hospital in critical condition.
As for the driver of the vehicle that was struck, a septuagenarian, she suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where there would be no fear for her life, explains the spokesperson for the SQ, Catherine Bernard.
Collision reconstructionists attended the scene to understand the causes and circumstances of the accident. Route 155 has been closed in both directions.
