A video that has been shared a lot on social media in recent days is said to show the new British Prime Minister partying in Ibiza. We see a man, tall, dark, in a bathing suit and glass in hand, wiggling his hips with energy in the middle of a crowd of clubbers. This man is presented as Rishi Sunak, the new 42-year-old British Prime Minister. An excerpt was even broadcast on a French television program, as proof that with this young head of government, a breath of fresh air is blowing across the Channel.
Except it’s not about Rishi Sunak at all. This video was first broadcast in January 2022 in the DailyMail. The British tabloid was amused then to have found a lookalike of Rishi Sunak visibly very fit!! He had even nicknamed him “Raving Rishi”, literally Rishi the party animal. The video actually comes from the Instagram account of a big club boss in Ibiza: Wayne Lineker. This man, quite famous in Britain, first posted it over three years ago on July 12, 2019. At the time, the real Rishi Sunak was about to be named number 2 of the British Treasury by Boris Jonson.
The Le Vrai du faux cell found press photos of Rishi Sunak on the day of his appointment to the British Treasury on July 25, 2019, 13 days after the publication of the video. We observed several differences between the two men. In the photos from the time, Rishi Sunak’s hair is already a little gray and he has a mole on his left cheek, two features missing from the “crazy dancer”, who incidentally has much smaller ears. as the new head of the British government.
Ultimate proof, our colleagues from Release contacted club boss Wayne Lineker. This confirmed to them that the man in the bathing suit was absolutely not the new British Prime Minister.
