The Trudeau government is talking nonsense about sex change

The wind changes direction.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith wants gender reassignment surgeries to not be possible before age 18.

Horror! Crime against humanity! Quickly, let’s alert the UN, this monument of credibility!

Reactions

Um, no, I find that reasonable.

Surgical operations of this nature under the age of 18? No.

Danielle Smith wants to ban hormonal therapies for sex reassignment purposes before the age of 16.

I find this reasonable.

It wants parents to give consent before a name change at school if the child is not yet 16 years old.

I find this reasonable.

She wants to create “neutral” sporting categories so that women born men, with the resulting morphological advantages, do not distort competitions between biological women.

I find this reasonable.

She wants parents to be notified when a class will address issues related to sexuality, and that the child can be excused from attending.

There, I’m less sure. From here I see religious fundamentalists stuffing their children’s heads with medieval beliefs on the subject.

It all depends on the content of the course: objective information or indoctrination into the smoky gender ideology that dismisses biology in the name of feeling?

Certainly, the Premier of Alberta is not helping herself by inviting the outrageous Tucker Carlson. But this is irrelevant to the question discussed here.

In short, I see in these announcements common sense rearing its ugly head.

We change sex when we have the required maturity.

However, seeing the hysterical reaction of the Trudeau government, the brownshirts would have taken power in Edmonton.

Our postnational Justin doesn’t give a damn about considerations like maturity, informed consent, or documented cases of later regret.

He sees it as an attack “against young people in the LGBT community”.

Lyrical, taking himself for Churchill, Minister Randy Boissonnault thunders: “an attack on one of our communities is an attack on all of us.”

The Minister of Justice, Arif Virani, saw it as a policy “demonizing” young trans people.

Disconnect

Obviously, when it comes to exaggerating stupidity, the NDP is a safe bet.

“Horrific” said New Democrat Blake Desjarlais, adding that these policies could lead to the “death” of some.

“Homelessness”, “suicide”, added his colleague Heather McPherson.

All this comes at a time when other governments are also putting on the brakes, and reports are multiplying (see in particular the New York Times of February 2) about confused young people who ended up finding themselves, and calls for caution from scientists.

You will not find, with the exception of immigration, a better example of the complete disconnection of the Trudeau government.
