Thursday, June 9, a judicial investigation was opened after incidents at the nuclear power plant in Tricastin (Drome) have been denounced by a whistleblower.
EDF is in the sights of justice, in particular for “endangering the lives of others”, “false” and “use of forgery”. This follows the revelations of a whistleblower who highlighted security flaws at the central Tricastin (Drome). This former executive of the site is relieved that justice has decided to investigate: “This opening of a judicial investigation at the request of the public prosecutor effectively lends credence to the alerts that I have been carrying for years which have been dismissed out of hand”he rejoices.
In August 2018, a leak caused the flooding of one of the power plant’s electrical buildings. According to the whistleblower, the management would have minimized the accident with the nuclear safety authority. Thursday, June 9, EDF reacted in a press release: “EDF takes note of the opening of a judicial investigation and is entirely at the disposal of the competent authorities to shed all the necessary light on the alleged facts and thus restore the truth.“
