Feeling the victim of an injustice, long track speed skater Alex Boisvert-Lacroix appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to regain his place in the Canadian squad sent to the World Cup circuit. Discarded by Speed Skating Canada, the Sherbrooke athlete won his case and will fly to Poland on Saturday.
The speed skater initially hoped to see the High Performance Committee use its discretion to allow him to participate in the full Long Track World Cup tour, but following a fifth place finish at the National Championships, Boisvert-Lacroix had been put aside despite his long experience on the circuit.
