In a parody of a trial, director Laetitia Dosch manages to talk about subjects such as feminism and ecology through the film “The Trial of the Dog”.

Should a dog that bites be sentenced to death? That’s the question of the extravagant comedy The dog trialby director and actress Laetitia Dosch. The animal is presented before a court which will judge it like any other delinquent. “It goes very far into caricature, but it’s very interesting”assures a spectator at the exit of the theaters on Wednesday September 11. “I also draw a parallel between women and dogs. Dogs, like women, can sometimes be compared to things.”explains Laetitia Dosch.

Jean-Pascal Zadi and François Damiens, two kings of comedy, take part in this parody of a trial. “What I liked was that it was a comedy, but with substance.”says François Damiens. “You don’t even feel like you’re watching something about feminism and ecology, you’re just watching a good movie”adds Jean-Pascal Zadi. At the Cannes Film Festival, Kodi, the star of the film, has already won a Palme Dog.
