The Transju’Jeunes is canceled due to lack of snow

The Transju’Jeunes, a series of cross-country ski races for young people aged 7 to 19, was to take place on Wednesday March 16, after the Transjurassienne itself which had brought together 1,800 cross-country skiers on February 13. But due to the low snowfall in the resort of Les Rousses, and given the mild weather conditions to come, the organizers had to make the decision to cancel the 2022 edition.

Not enough snow in Les Rousses

The race was originally scheduled for January 26, 2022, it had been postponed to March 16 due to organizational difficulties linked to Covid-19, but the weather conditions are not there at the end of winter on the Jura mountains. “For 10 days, we have been monitoring the snow cover on the ground of the Rousses college where the La Transju’Jeunes events were to take place. We have studied other places, but to date, the snow is not sufficient and no precipitation is expected in the coming days,” Explain Pierre-Albert Vandel, president of Trans’Organisation.

This is the second year in a row that La Transju’Jeunes has been cancelled. The date of the 2023 edition is already set for January 25, 2023. In the meantime, the organizers give an appointment for La Transju’Trail: June 4-5, 2022La Transju’Cyclo: September 17-18, 2022
