The construction machinery arrived on Monday and, already, the Place de la Sirène has lost its circular concrete benches. This is the start of a new phase in the repair of the pedestrian streets of Le Mans.
The project involves the development ofa water mirror around the fountain, tree plantations and restaurant terraces larger ones, for an amount of 2.8 million euros. It also includes a new paving, in the spirit of that of the streets already redone in recent years.
6 months of construction
This section also includes the complete renovation of rue Marchanderue Claude Blondeau, rue de Jacobins, as well as portions of rue Jankowski and rue de la Barillerie.
The work, which was initially scheduled to begin in February, is scheduled to last 6 months. As for the other phases, access to shops will remain possible at all times, even if the construction site will often leave only narrow passages.
