Business people have increased their pressure since the arrival of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in the project designated as the Quebec Structuring Network. The media tell us that it is mainly out of a need to protect their real estate goals that this project must be carried out. We therefore see that in the eyes of business people, the tramway is important for investment purposes, and not for transport. It is said that new studies are no longer necessary since, for 20 years, a multitude of transport experts, such as urban planners, ecologists, architects and engineers have already spoken out in favor of a tramway. We are thus confusing independent research that could have been carried out by professionals in the field with the opinions or results of studies coming from these experts and commissioned by the authorities for support. What emerges from these speeches from the business community consists of making the district of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge the territory where wealth will be favored by the guarantee that the tramway will run there according to the wishes of investors. What better way to develop a certain resentment among the citizens of other boroughs who might think that a tramway would perhaps be useful to them as a means of transport and who will necessarily have to assume the costs of the next deficit of this high street tramway? city, as they already do for the Videotron center? What better way to increase the number of anti-tram citizens?
