After the passage of a tornado on Friday, December 10, it is time to take stock in the state of Kentucky (United States). In duplex from Mayfield on Sunday December 12 in the 19/20 of France 3, the journalist Loïc de la Mornais explains that the city seems like “shaved off the map, mocked, completely swept away by the tornado“.”We have the impression that absolutely no administrative building, no house has resisted“, he describes.
“According to state radars, debris rose to an altitude of 11,000 meters, this is the altitude of airliners before falling so we have this feeling of bombardment here.“, continues the journalist. Finally, Loïc de la Mornais adds that “LThe drama unfolded a few hundred yards away, in a candle factory which had remained open 24 hours a day as the Christmas holidays approached. The balance sheet, still uncertain, should be “extremely heavy“.”It could have been even worse if the tornado had struck in the middle of the day when people were still on the streets“, underlines Loïc de la Mornais.
