The “Tous Aidants” caravan is back on the roads of France

The objective of the caravan is to reach out to caregivers; in order to answer their questions and direct them towards local structures adapted to each situation.

Since 2018, the Compagnie des Aidants has set up the Caravan “tous Aidants” and travels across France to raise awareness, support and guide caregivers. The “Tous Aidants” caravan is set up for three days in a hospital or in a public square. Social workers welcome, listen and provide guidance to meet all needs.

As a helper, you will find all the necessary information on local solutions and structures. A highlight of the inauguration at each stage allows discussion with elected officials and local personalities.

The objectives of the caravan

– Accompany and support caregivers by providing them with a support network, advice, listening or even practical information, thanks to the many tools offered by the association (directory of caregivers, newsletter, online training, etc… )

– Highlight the essential role of carers in the life course, in the health of the loved one, in the organization of the home and in all aspects of the daily life of the person being cared for.

– Bring the voice of carers to the public authorities and players in the world of health, so that the carer is given greater consideration.

– Support them, which will facilitate the life of the loved one, but also that of the health professionals who intervene in the home.

Laws and aids

The ASV law has made it possible to establish a “right to respite”, to allow family caregivers to rest and take time off, as well as respite assistance.

The APA assistance plan (Personalised autonomy allowance) for the elderly person can, for example, finance the use of temporary accommodation in establishments or foster care, or additional hours of home help.

Decree No. 2020-1208 of October 1, 2020 relating to the daily allowance for caregivers and the daily parental attendance allowance.

The amount of the daily allowance for caregivers (AJPA) is set at 52.08 euros for a caregiver who lives alone, and at 43.83 euros for a person living with a partner. It is paid by the family allowance funds (CAF) or the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA). The caregiver is entitled to a maximum of 22 AJPA (daily allowance for close caregivers) per month. The allowance can be paid on a half-day basis, except for job seekers. This leave concerns all private sector employees, public sector agents, the self-employed and job seekers.
