The Tours public prosecutor’s office is appealing the five-year suspended prison sentence for sexual assault of a former medical student, reported Tuesday March 26, France Bleu Touraine.

On March 19, this 26-year-old man, now a medical intern in Limoges (Haute-Vienne), was found guilty by the Tours criminal court of sexual assault between 2017 and 2020 on two former comrades. The prosecution had requested four years in prison, one of which was closed.

The young man admitted the facts at the hearing. He will therefore be tried for the third time. In December 2023, he had already been sentenced by the children’s judge to four months in prison, for a first sexual assault committed in 2013, when he was a minor.

At the end of his trial on March 19, the intern also received an obligation of care, registration in the file of perpetrators of sexual offenses, by reporting his address every six months, as well as banned from contacting the two victims, to whom he must pay 15,000 euros in damages.
