Almost two days after the death of 27 migrants attempting to cross the Channel to reach England, the tension is mounting more and more.

The tone is rising sharply between London and Paris. While a meeting on the migrant crisis must take place in Calais (Pas-de-Calais), the British finally saw their invitation canceled by France, due to a letter posted on social networks by Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister. “For the Élysée, confidence is broken”, specifies the journalist France Télévisions Maëlys September, presents live from London.

The letter, addressed to Emmanuel Macron, specifies in particular the wish of the British not to receive any more the migrants having succeeded the crossing and to return them directly to France. “One too many provocation for Paris”, notes the journalist Maëlys September. British government tries to ease tensions “by ensuring its willingness to move towards enhanced cooperation”, concludes the journalist.
