In Lille (North) the incidence rate is much higher than the national average. Faced with the arrival of the new restrictions, residents of the city are divided.

To limit the progress of the Covid-19, the government is considering new restrictive measures, such as the return of the compulsory mask in public space, outdoors included. “It’s a huge step backwards (…) all the promises they made on the return to normal life are bogus”, deplores a Lille (North). Other citizens are ready to put it back without browbeating, anxious to protect themselves and others.

To enter the Lille Christmas market, the health pass is required. The validity of this could be questioned and repackaged with the injection of a third dose, a decision which leaves the inhabitants dubious. “It is in fact forcing. I did the first two doses. I would have preferred that we be left with the choice of whether or not to do the third injection”, testifies a Lille woman. The executive also plans to limit the validity period of the health pass for unvaccinated people.
