On April 5, the film The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan will be released, carried by a shock cast. A beautiful cloak and dagger film that seduced those who were able to see it in preview.

At least as strong as Asterix, here is the big French production of the year… 72 million budget for a great classic of French literature, The Three Musketeers. In preview, Saturday February 18, in Saint-Malo (Ille et Vilaine), an XXL casting to remind you that such a role cannot be refused. Actor François Civil says: “I wanted this role so much that I got a little D’Artagnan haircut, I shaved my mustache. […] In my grandmother’s garden, I imagined myself a musketeer.”

“Respect the DNA of the work”

Published in 1844, the novel by Alexandre Dumas has been adapted around forty times for the cinema, a challenge for Martin Bourboulon, the director. “We must not disappoint. We must find a balance between what we can bring […] and respect the DNA of the work and its strength”, he indicates. The first part of the film will be released in theaters on April 5. The second is expected for December and if successful, it is not impossible that a third part will see the light of day.
