The Republican front was conspicuous by its absence in many duels in the second round of the legislative elections. This was particularly the case in Lot-et-Garonne.
The disintegration of the Republican front was particularly embodied in the third district of Lot-et-Garonne, explains the journalist France Télévisions Christophe Carnino. The RN candidate Annick Cousin triumphed there with nearly 57% of the votes against the rebellious candidate Xavier Czapla. In the first round, she came first with about 25%, followed by the candidate of Nupes. With 20%, the vote transfers of Renaissance candidate Olivier Damaisin could therefore tip the final result.
It was the far-right candidate who finally won. The Nupes candidate was notably the victim of high abstention and numerous blank or invalid votes. The voters of the candidate Together! therefore seem not to have wished to block the RN candidate, sometimes refusing to choose, other times preferring her to her opponent.
