Alexeï Navalny, the Russian opponent of Vladimir Putin, died in prison on February 16. An investigation by investigative media The Insider, revealed on October 1, claims that he was poisoned.

Alexeï Navalny died on February 16, 2024 in prison of a natural death, according to the official version of the authorities. However, this version was denied on October 1 by the Russian investigative media The Insider. Supporting evidence, he claims that the former Russian opponent of Vladimir Putin was assassinated in prison. As a reminder: in the days following the death of Alexeï Navalny, his family was not able to see his remains one last time.

The Insider media outlet obtained the original version of the autopsy report where more details on the circumstances of his death are mentioned. He would have had symptoms similar to those he suffered during a poisoning attempt in 2020. The Russian media also obtained the list of documents seized in the prison after the death of the ex-opponent, including vomit samples. The former opponent’s lawyers plan to request the opening of an international investigation.
