A meeting between Occitans at the end of the 36th day of Ligue 2 with an unlikely scenario: Toulouse Football Club fell in Rodez. However, it was a high-stakes match for the Toulouse team, who could become Ligue 2 champions if they win, but also for the Aveyronnais, who are thus back in the race for maintenance. Thanks to a goal from Bradley Danger in the 64th minute, on penalty. The Toulousains, sluggish, failed to materialize their shots, which were not on target.
Rodez Aveyron Football fights to maintain, in 17th place in the Ligue 2 standings before this match. The Ruthénois had not won any match of the year 2022. But in the first leg, last December, they had managed to snatch a draw (1-1) at the Stadium. The TFC coach, Philippe Montanier, remembered it very well: “We saw that in the first leg, they played like lions to get a point. We will also play like lions tonight to get the win” he said before the trip to Rodez.
No TFC supporters at Paul Lignon, all outdoors
But this clash between “lions” was played without no Toulouse supporters in the Aveyron stadium. Paul-Lignon being under construction, only 1,700 places were available, of which around 80 were reserved for the Toulouse Football Club. But not to harm any TEF fan, the Indians did not want to choose who would be part of these 80 people, they preferred to leave the yard empty.
But while still maintaining the trip to Rodez, since the Toulouse supporters met in front of the Aveyron stadium, at the Esplanade des Rutènes, from where they gave voice to encourage their players. But that wasn’t enough.
The title of French Ligue 2 champion is put into play on Saturday, against Nîmess for TFC’s final home game. France Bleu Occitanie will send you the match from 6:30 p.m. at the Stadium.
