The National Assembly adopted at second reading the 2024 draft budget for Social Security (PLFSS), Wednesday November 29, rejecting a motion of censure tabled on Sunday by the parliamentary group La France insoumise. A final adoption of the text is expected in the coming days.

This 27th motion of censure, against the 19th 49.3 triggered on Sunday by Elisabeth Borne, only received 145 votes out of the 289 necessary to overthrow the government. The text will now return to the Senate, before an expected return to the Assembly on Friday with a view to final adoption, probably via a new 49.3.

“This is the only solution to avoid blocking our institutions and our country”affirmed the Prime Minister, criticizing “overplayed indignations” oppositions. This motion “shows our determination not to let you continue to destroy our public services with impunity”insists LFI MP Caroline Fiat.
