Some 1,800 union members at Bell Technical Solutions (BST) in Quebec have accepted the agreement in principle, after laborious negotiations.
The Quebec section of the Unifor union recognized on Friday the difficulty of the negotiations carried out after several equally difficult conciliation sessions.
“The vote on the agreement began last Monday and ended at the end of the day Thursday,” said the union affiliated with the FTQ, according to which the negotiation was not easy.
“Members’ expectations were very high, especially in the current context where inflation continues to rise,” noted Charles Saumure, national representative of Unifor Quebec.
Employees who work as technicians and logistics agents throughout Quebec rejected the first agreement presented to them last June by 81%.
