The president also indicated on Friday that a photo of the courtroom when the face of this protected defendant appeared had been broadcast on social networks. But this Monday, she assures that “no photos have been identified on social networks“.
Despite this incident, defense lawyers did not request a postponement of the trial. The debates were delayed because of this technical incident and the resulting suspension of the hearing on Friday. The indictment is scheduled for October 17. The verdict will be delivered on October 25 instead of the 20th.
This accused, appearing free, changed his life and identity a few years ago, after having denounced in a double assassination case a figure of Corsican organized crime, Jacques Mariani, who is in the box. Since the start of the trial, he appeared behind a wooden screen installed in the courtroom. But during his interrogation Thursday, the image of this man on the stand was broadcast for several minutes in close-up.
