Technical control will soon be compulsory for scooters and motorcycles. France is overtaken by the Council of State, the highest administrative court, which gives the government two months to put it in place.

The technical control of the two-wheelers will be compulsory. In the absence of credible alternative measures, the Council of State ordered the government to submit to this European obligation within two months. The news is more or less well received. “Every year or every two years to have to pay, that’s more, what“, says a biker. The Federation of Angry Bikers has already expressed its opposition to this measure several times, which it contests again on Friday, June 2.

Technical control centers are not ready

According to the Federation, the measure would be ineffective in terms of road safety. For the three associations which have been fighting for two years to enforce this technical control, it is a victory. The technical control centers are not quite ready to receive this new clientele. The Minister Delegate for Transport should indicate in the coming days the terms of this technical inspection, as well as the implementation schedule, and specify the category of vehicles concerned.
