The Tamazgha Festival, between memory of traditions and current mixes

France Bleu Provence is a partner of the 16th edition of the Tamazgha Festival from December 8 to 11, 2021 in Marseille at the 15th Art, a unique event crossing borders and generations.

The Tamazgha festival is produced by Sud Culture, an association created by music enthusiasts united around a project of enhancement of North African musical and cultural heritage, in particular Berber.

Between memory of traditions and current mixtures, the festival takes place according to a concept of shared expression, mixing professionals and amateurs, musicians and music lovers, young and old. Since its creation in 2006, the festival has illustrated a strong desire to make culture accessible to all, by offering an ambitious program bringing together rising values ​​and established artists.

Wednesday December 8 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Campagne Lévêque, an initiation into Berber and North African rhythms, vocal and instrumental practices, and improvisations will be offered to you by Noureddine Chenoud. This workshop is aimed at children and adults (beginners or not).

Meeting and showcase with the king of pop Kabyle

At the end of a special, intimate meeting, Takfarinas will talk about his special bond with the Marseille public, and will present his double album released this summer 2021! This time of exchange with the public will be punctuated by a few songs taken from his new album, which he will perform in acoustics accompanied by a percussionist. The album will be available on site and signed for those who wish.

Ymai, whose real name is Yamina, was born in Paris to immigrant parents of Kabyle origin. She will be in concert at the 15ème Art on Saturday December 11 at 8 p.m. In 2010 she sang Berber songs for the first time. In 2013, she created, with Florent Labodinière, a repertoire composed of pieces in French and covers by Matoub Lounès in an atmosphere of multiple influences.
