MEPs rejected, Tuesday, June 27, the law on the restoration of nature, pillar of the green deal. The Swiss, for their part, took the plunge a long time ago in their national park, and had the joy of seeing species return.

On the borders of Switzerland, in the canton of Grisons, is the best protected territory in the Alps. The man has not intervened for a century. The place becomes the kingdom of deer, ibexes and marmots. Hans Loza knows all the secrets of park national Swiss. He has been surveying the territory for three decades. “There are lots of animals everywhere. We are observed“, he notes. Worrieds of the revolution inindustry, the founders of the park have the idea to give nature a space where it would evolve far from man.

200 euro fine

The only sprain is the reintroduction of ibexes, which had disappeared from the region. To leave nature in peace, the rules are very strict: you must always walk on the path, and do not walk with a dog. Not Armon Willy is one of the eight guardians responsible for watching the grain. “I have the right to a fine of 200 francs [200 euros]”he says.

In 109 years, biodiversity has improved and soils have been enriched. Raphael Von Büren is a botanical researcher. He lists all the species and scans the vegetation. This allows him to study climate change, far from any interference. We see that biodiversity is increasing on the summits. Plants go up in altitude“, he explains. The obstacles to multiplying these places are still significant.
