The CCTV images of the evening of overflows near the Stade de France have been erased. A representative of the French Football Federation indicated Thursday, June 9 in the Senate.
“The images are available for seven days. After seven days, they are automatically destroyed, and the only way is that we should have had a requisition to provide them to the different populations”, said in the Senate, Thursday, June 9, one of the representatives of the French Football Federation, Erwan Le Prévost. While the chaos at the Stade de France shocked the world, the authorities did not ask for CCTV at the stadium.
The images were automatically erased by the computer system. The cameras are however located in crucial places, since they film the bleachers, the stairs as well as the immediate surroundings of the stands. There are 220 of them, today unusable. A failure that provoked many reactions in the political class. “I dare not imagine that our leaders are so incompetent that they did not immediately ask for it to be transmitted to them [la] video surveillance. So it’s voluntarysaid Marine Le Pen. David Assouline, senator (PS) from Paris, criticizes a lack of coordination “unbelievable”.
