Stade Rochelais has won the moon. Supporters are now running after the star! Since the European coronation of the Maritimes, the supporters have been looking for jerseys and other t-shirts flocked with the star of European champions. The club’s shops are beset with requests. The one in the city center, recently opened a stone’s throw from the old market, is no exception to the rule.
The club had anticipated this yellow and black fever by granting a day off to the employees of the shop. A little respite before the rush. Very often, the same question comes up in the mouths of fans: when will the starry jersey go on sale? Well, we’ll have to be patient and wait for the new collection this summer.
The t-shirts…
If the manager of the Stade Rochelais stores measures the impatience of the supporters for the future jersey, he confirms the club is doing the best in coordination with its official equipment supplier (Adidas). They will already be able to buy the first “collector” T-shirts this week. “The T-shirt we’re releasing this Thursday is the one worn by the players and the staff on Sunday during the parade on the old port”, says Stéphane Drelon. “We increased our orders this morning (Tuesday) by 20 to 30%. To start, we will only have a limited quantity in the store. If we have 300, it will already be quite a lot, but don’t panic. People will be able to order it, we will be delivered in the first 15 days of June”.
…waiting for the jerseys
Martine and her husband Jacques survey the long boutique on rue des Merciers. They are regulars. And for good reason, they are subscribers and swore loyalty to Stade Rochelais ten years ago. “We just come for the star, otherwise we are already well equipped.”. Same answer from Stéphane Drelon, “normally, it will be for July with the new collection, the starry jersey will be in store”. Reaction tinged with humor from Jacques, “Waiting that long is unbearable (laughs).”
Nothing to discourage Martine, who has a lot of ideas, “as we already have a lot of jerseys, we also went to the store to find out if we could buy just the star to glue, embroider or sew it on.” But no shooting star in the rays either. For now, we have to be content with maintaining those that have been shining since Saturday in the eyes of each supporter. It’s already huge. Either way, summer will be hot…in t-shirts and jerseys.
