The faithful are still there, starting of course with Stella Morris. The companion of Julian Assange and mother of her two children harangues a conquered crowd, microphone in hand. “What’s happening today: Will a UK court extradite a journalist to a country that conspired to assassinate him? It’s totally unthinkable!”
In January, Camp Assange convinced the courts to refuse the whistleblower’s extradition to the United States. There, he faces life imprisonment. A medical expert speaks about his suicidal thoughts. A dark project that he could carry out if he were forced to cross the Atlantic.
Frances speaks fiercely. This Englishwoman who came to support the freedom to inform is against the justice of her country. “I’m really, really angry. It’s happening in my name and with my money. The UK is paying for this US appeal against a judge’s decision. It turns me off so much. It shouldn’t be allowed to go. . If Assange loses, then there is no more hope for this world, not at all, ” she castigates.
Defenders of Assange once again highlight its fragility. Lawyers for the American authorities criticize the medical expertise which described him as suicidal.
