The XV of France struggled to get an eleventh victory in a row, Saturday, against Australia, in test match (30-29).
Everything changed less than five minutes from the end of the match. The XV of France snatched the victory against Australia, Saturday, November 4, at the Stade de France, to start the Autumn Nations Series (30-29). The release was offered by a sublime try from Damian Penaud, while the Wallabies had taken control of the match in the second period.
There was no question of interrupting a series of ten consecutive victories, which began after a defeat in Australia in July 2021. Without being perfect, Fabien Galthié’s players showed some response after a timid start to the match. Faced with surly Australians, motivated by the idea of restoring their status on the international scene, nothing had to be let go.
The Blues built up a little more confidence, before going on to face South Africa on the 12th, then against Japan on the 20th.
