The XV of France silenced the Italians to win the first of its two preparation matches for the World Cup on Saturday (21-0).
The women’s XV of France secured victory (21-0) on Saturday in Nice against Italy, thanks to a controlled first period but without shining, just over a month before the World Cup in New Zealand (October 8 -November 12).
Les Bleues, who will play a second test match against the Transalpine on Friday in Biella (Italy), and who probably lost their captain Manuela Furlan to injury, folded the match in 24 minutes thanks to three tries by Laure Sansus, Céline Ferer and Annaëlle Deshaye.
Once the three tries scored, the French then suffered the rough defense of their opponents. The rest of the meeting thus looked more like improved training, the Blues dominating physically but without succeeding in concretizing, posting concerns in touch in particular, and too many hand faults. The names of the 32 players who will fly to New Zealand on September 22 will be announced on September 12.
