The final between the two best European teams on Saturday delivered a match that went into overtime, ultimately won by the Toulouse team.

Stade Toulouse does not lose these matches. The Rouge et Noir won an epic final against Leinster (31-22), Saturday May 25 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, extending their impressive series of nine finals won in all competitions since 2008. At the end of extra time, the Toulouse resisted the Irish despite having a numerical superiority for more than ten minutes at the end of the match, to offer themselves a sixth coronation in the Champions Cup.

While the two teams responded with penalties interposed until the end of regulation time (15-15), Matthis Lebel was the first to find the flaw in the goal for Toulouse, and Josh van der’s try Flier did not compensate for the three penalties converted by Thomas Ramos in overtime. Already beaten by Stade Rochelais over the last two years, Leinster failed again in the Champions Cup final.
