Thanks to its 15-12 victory this Saturday against Scotland, Ireland secured qualification for the next Rugby World Cup, a first since 2017.

In a match that became a qualifying play-off for the 2025 World Cup after Wales’ victory against Italy earlier in the day, Ireland won against Scotland 15-12, Saturday April 27, in Belfast. Thanks to their victory, the Irish finished third in the 2024 Six Nations Tournament and returned to world competition for the first time since 2017.

The club’s XV however ran behind the score for 40 minutes, after the try ofElis Martin who allowed the Scots to return to the locker room leading 5-0. But tries from Katie Corrigan and Cliodhna Moloney in the second half allowed Scott Bemand’s team to come back to score. It ultimately took an excellent penalty from Dannah O’Brien six minutes from the end of the match to seal the Irish comeback.
