In a match played in London, Clermont was beaten by the South African team (32-31) on Saturday and will not see the Challenge Cup final. A disappointment given the Auvergne performance.
The Auvergnats will harbor regrets, but it is the Sharks who will see the final of the Challenge Cup 2024, after their victory in London (32-31). Long in the lead, the French initially left their opponents in the match by accumulating mistakes, before giving in at the end of the match, without being able to catch up.
A defeat of one point which sounds like an air of déjà vu in the Franco-South African meetings, and which overshadows the very good match of Christophe Urios’ men, symbolized by the nice tries of the “Jaunards“, authors of three goals in the first period by Joris Jurand twice, and Alex Newsome. However, it was indeed Makazole Mapimpi’s try which allowed the Sharks to take the advantage 10 minutes from time and to not to be caught again.
