Focus on Wales before thinking about the “final” against England. The instruction was well received by the French who won (40-0) against the Welsh in Cardiff on Sunday April 21th. By scoring six tries, the players of Gaëlle Mignot and David Ortiz also won the offensive bonus.
The Tricolores were particularly inspired on counter-attacks, scoring most of their tries while the Welsh held the ball. The player of the French 7s team Joanna Grisez particularly stood out with two beautiful interceptions concluded by a flattened ball in the in-goal.
To hope to shine against the English on Saturday April 27, the Blues will nevertheless have to resolve the two weak points of the day : touches and balls carried. As for the Welsh, victory is imperative against Italy if they want to escape the wooden spoon.
