Opposed to the Sharks in the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup, the Toulousains offered a festival of tests to their supporters.
Toulouse played and Toulouse won. After a first half of remarkable intensity, the Toulouse team took advantage of the second half, and especially the last quarter of an hour, to roll out and plant seven tries against the overwhelmed South Africans (54-20), Saturday April 8, at the Ernest-Wallon stadium, in the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup. If only Juan Cruz Mallia was able to unlock the South African lock in the first half, to respond to a first achievement from Grant Williams, the Haut-Garonnais were subsequently in the in-goal six times.
A festival at the end of the match
With a six-point lead 12 minutes from the end, Ugo Mola’s players scored four times to end the game in the best possible way. Thomas Ramos offered himself a double, after that of Mallia, while Peato Mauvaka, Arthur Retière and Romain Ntamack each added their name to the score sheet.
