The South Francilien Hospital Center (CHSF), located in Corbeil-Essonnes, launched its white plan after a cyberattack that occurred overnight from Saturday to Sunday, franceinfo learned on Monday August 22 from the establishment, confirming information from RMC.

According to a police source at franceinfo, the hackers succeeded in blocking the hospital’s computer network and are demanding a ransom of 10 million dollars. The Paris public prosecutor’s office is seized of the investigation entrusted to the center for the fight against digital crimes (C3N) of the national gendarmerie.

In this context, hospital emergencies are operating in degraded mode. Patients are notably redirected to other hospitals in the region and deprogramming of operations is envisaged, deplores the general management of the hospital in a press release. “All the hospital’s business software, storage systems (including medical imaging) and the information system relating to patient admissions” are for now “inaccessible”.

The CHSF puts “everything to maintain ambulatory care” that he can provide outside the operating room. People already hospitalized in the establishment can continue to be taken care of, assures the hospital. This attack does not actually impact the operation, logistics, medical-technical services, building security, or telephone networks.

Experts have been mandated by the National Authority for the security and defense of information systems to intervene quickly. They are currently working on three priority areas, specifies the CHSF in its press release: “identify the source of the attack, analyze the perimeter of the attack on our network, and secure backups”.
