In an interview with the show The Joe Rogan Experiencethe producer of the indie music group has confirmed that he recorded a new album with the members of The Strokes “a few months ago” in Costa Rica.

“We rented a house at the top of a mountain and installed the group outside,” he confided in this interview which was taken up by several American media, including the music news site Stereogum.

Rick Rubin produced the last Strokes album, The New Abnormal, released in 2020, in the midst of a pandemic (after seven years of scarcity). The album was recorded at Shangri-La studios.

In an interview with Unbreakable, Casablancas then confided: “Rick’s magic breathed in the dynamics that made it possible to recreate the group. He acted as a tutelary figure that allowed us to reform a unit. Deep down inside, we’re still those 18-year-old kids who know each other by heart and would be up for anything. »
