The Strasbourg residents of INK release an EP “Climax” in an electro jazz atmosphere

In Strasbourg, the old Black Hats are transformed into INK. Their first EP released on November 2 gives the “La” of this new jazz, electro and atmospheric project.

Jazz and electronic music, Hard-bop and Deep Berlin, Massive Attack and John Coltrane, Stanley Kubrick and Jorge Luis Borges, so many influences which dot the creation “Climax” and lead it towards an intense and hallucinatory spectacle.

Emblematic music of transgression and irreverence, born of violence against African and African-American peoples, carrying a message of irreducible hope, jazz perpetuates and constantly evolves a sometimes subversive tradition of questioning of the established order, diktats and dogmatisms of all kinds.

(c) Bartosch SALMANSKI

INK, Strasbourg group which brings together Léonard Kretz (saxophones), Sébastien Valle (keyboards), Lionel Ehrhart (bass) and Victor Gachet (drums). The quartet’s very first EP, Climax , summarizes in three titles of a strong density, the orientation of a project opening to electronic sounds and the energy of rock. An ambitious jazz but not necessarily elitist. You just need to show a bit of curiosity to let yourself be transported.
